Variata Cast Barrel is the first sauna stove-barrel of TMF in a decorative case with firebox made of cast iron.
It is designed for the Russian banya or Finnish dry air sauna in steam rooms of 8-18 cubic meters in space. A stove is free from such fundamental shortages of grid-stoves as uncontrollable air convection and low temperature of stones due to their air cooling.
This stove borrowed its beautiful design and name from its predecessor - Variata Barrel Inox.
The stove consists of two main components: - firebox made of assembled cast iron and external case with a space for stones in a wooden barrel design. Do you remember that the word “Cast” referrers to cast iron? All of the TMF’s stoves with cast iron furnace have this reference in their name.
Indubitable advantages of sauna stoves made of cast iron are high heat and corrosion resistance, which guarantees their long service life (up to 30 years).
Heavy, cast iron stove with thick walls cools down slower (about 3 hours) and remains heated longer than stoves made of iron plates. Moreover, heat conductivity of cast iron is way higher than heat conductivity of heat-resisting steel. That is why cast iron firebox is heated evenly through out all the heated surfaces.
Extended warranty period up to 5 years is set for integrity of the components of cast iron firebox of the new model.
It is important to note that this “barrel” can be stoked with DO grade cannel coal (“nut” size 25 - 50mm).
Decorative cover is made of constructional steel. Staves (bulging shaped planks) of the barrel are painted with two color organic silicate composition, imitating a rosewood texture. Hoops are painted in a graphite-metallic color. Imitation of wooden texture of staves is close to a natural one.
Unaware person will have no doubts that it is not a stove standing in front of him but a usual wooden barrel in its traditional size.
When decorative case becomes dirty in course of operation, you may clean it very fast with a usual wet cloth.
Variata Barrell design of a stove fits any sauna interior. A barrel or a tub standing in a sauna – it is very accustomed, simple and traditional from the time out of memory.
Properly placed firewood burning channel of a stove is practically unnoticeable and will not be on the way for a stove to look like a wooden barrel standing in a corner of a steam room.
New model became the very picture of aesthetics and reliability. The customer usually have to make a choice between reliability and durability or impractical aesthetics. The new model encapsulates these two important criteria.
Same as its predecessor made of heat-resistant steel, cast-iron Variata is intended for several modes of heating a sauna room. Owing to a detachable basket for stones it is possible to vary convection, emitting and heat accumulation properties of a stove. The basket is freely installed on the firebox top. There are three possible ways to fill the stove with stones.

The first way (a). Stones are put in the detachable basket only, filling just a visible space from above between the firebox and the barrel cover. This way the stove holds about 30 kg of stones.
This way the stove represents a high level convection stove with an open top cover that heats a steam room quickly with the help of air convection and heat emission from stove walls. At that it is quite hard to get steam modes. Cover walls are heated likewise in case of usual convection stoves.
The second way (b). Firebox top cover and the whole space between firebox and cover are filled with stones. A mass of stones loaded in a stove this way may reach up to 90 kg.
The denser and less in size stones are loaded between the firebox and cover, the less is air convection. This way of loading leads to a heat accumulating stove practically without convection, a steam room is prepared substantially longer, while heat emission towards a steam room is minimized. Precisely due to a large volume of heated stones and lack of convection the stove allows getting comfortable Russian banya modes. Low level of heat emission from a stove makes a bath more comfortable, because it is possible to reside near a stove without feeling an unpleasant burning related to heat emission from it.
The third way (c). This is a combination of the first and, partially, the second ways. The stones are loaded the same way as in the first way, but in addition to this it is possible fill a space in the lower part between the firebox and covering partially to an extent large enough to customize and optimize the stove’s parameters according to unique peculiarities of the given steam room and in accordance with its owner bath preferences.
Such way of the stove filling with heat accumulating load also appears to be unique, and it has no analogies nowadays. There are high level convection stoves and heat accumulating stoves. There are expensive stoves with controlled convection. But there is no stove, which would enable its owner to transform and customize it according to owner’s preferences concerning steaming modes.
The product line includes Variata Cast Vitra model with large translucent door with diagonal of 42cm and a model with standard fuel channel and a door in anthracite colour.
