Tunguska 2017 Inox

The wood-burning bath stove «Tunguska 2017» is a deep reworked version of the very first sauna stoves made by TMF – of the stove «Tunguska», which has been designed in 2001, and which has been an irreplaceable market leader over a period of ten years among all the sauna stoves by TMF.

 The stove is retaining all main well-known advantages of the prototype, such as: a high heating speed of the sauna steam room, an open unventilated heater box with stones, which is heated on 5 sides through a ring-shape flame flow, self-cleaning of the gas ducts concerning the carbon build up, an economical firewood’s usage, an elegant classical design.

 If the heater box with stones is not ventilated, in contrast to a ventilated one, the stones are not cooled because of the air flow passing through it. Therefore the stones’ temperature in an unventilated heater box is higher other things being equal as compared to a ventilated one.

 We have eliminated such prototype disadvantages as a close-to-the-wall flue mounting, a large amount of the welded joints in the heater case and a low toughness of several construction elements.

Now, the stove has a central placement, and that is why we can install it in the steam room more convenient. Whereas the flue is placed now at a considerable distance from the wall where the combustive stove tunnel is installed, so it is accordingly easier to construct the wall fire protection, and to mount the fire block on the ceiling through the ceiling slab. The central placement of the flue is available thanks to the asymmetric stove assembly, and there is no one known stove model which are comparable with the model «Tunguska 2017». There is no one similar model design among both Finnish and Russian stoves.

 The one-piece bent stove fire place is made from one whole metal sheet to minimize the total length of the welded joints, which could be destroyed under extreme stove operational conditions on other stove models. Thereby, the missing vertical corner welded joints significantly improves the reliability of the new model.

The reducing of the bottom area of an open stone box in comparison to the prototype model has increased its stiffness. Besides, the stone box is reinforced by external bars, and not by internal as it was before. The external bars cannot be heated by the direct flame and they retain their stiffness under higher temperatures of the stone box bottom in comparison to the external bars. The reduced stove length has led to an increased stiffness of its lateral surfaces, and what is more this circumstance has allowed us to increase free space in the steam room.

Despite of some reduce of the fire box length, we has kept its volume thanks to the appliance of a flat stove bottom, instead of the old prototype stove bottom, which was considerably sloped directed to the furnace bar.

When the stove is heated, the stove bottom on the furnace bar sides is covered by an ash layer, this layer is a good thermal insulator and prevents the bottom from burning-outs, this trouble has occurred before by old inclined bottom part walls.

Currently, the new «Tunguska 2017» is made from high-quality carbon steel. An advantage of stoves made from this kind of steel is a more favorable price.

The new development is presented by the model types in two colors: anthracite and terracotta, as well as by a model including a translucent screen named «Vitra» with the diagonal of 42 cm.
