Optimus 20

Optimus solid-fuel hot-water boiler series is the improved and redesigned model of Pragmatik boilers. 

Design of the new model has taken into account several years of Pragmatik boilers’ operation experience, as well as advices of the hot-water boilers’ experts from different regions of Russia such as the Far East, Siberia, Altai, Kuzbass, Kazan, Moscow and etc.

Optimus boilers are designed for water heating of single-family houses and utility buildings equipped with water heating systems with natural and forced circulation of a heat-transfer agent under operating pressure of 0.3 mPa (3 kg/cm²). The boiler is able to heat multi-storey building with premises of irregular shape.

Thickness of the flue channel of the new model has been increased from 3 to 6 mm. Thickness of the water jacket’s walls has been increased from 2 to 3 mm. This protects the boiler’s case from deformation under increased pressure. Moreover, this protects the boiler’s case from deformation caused by wear, maintains air-tightness of the welded joints, protecting it from leakage, which extends boiler’s period of operation.

Furthermore, each TMF’s boiler is put through the hydraulic-pressure test to estimate its air-tightness and durability of the welded joints providing high quality and reliability of all the goods.

The water tube economizer (heat-exchanger) with vertical pipe’s layout is mounted at the top part of the boiler in front of the flue. The vertical pipes of the economizer provides efficient intake of the temperature of the stack gases, which increases water heating before supplying it to the heating main. Coefficient of efficiency of Optimus has increased by 15% on the whole in comparison with the previous models.

Maximum volume of the fuel load has increased form 27 to 33 litres providing prolonged burning without adding extra fuel. Duration of burning using one fuel load in prolonged burning mode is 8 hours.

The wide inclined right-angled hatch with handy door is designed for convenient load of the coal. The lower hatch was redesigned to be right-angled and located near the floor for easy loading of wood and cleaning of the furnace bar. The doors of both hatches are covered with the refractory heat-insulation material and fit tightly to the body in order to reduce heat loss. Moreover, this prevents overheating of the doors’ handles. The boiler is equipped with thermometer, which measures temperature of the heat-transfer agent, for safe and easy operation.

The furnace bar in the new model is inclined in order to eliminate clogging with ashes and residual of unburnt fuel. The new design of the firebox also makes cleaning of the boiler from combustion products easier.

Maximum length of a wood piece hasn’t changed and is 40 cm.The boiler’s case colour is agate grey.

Product line consists of one model at the moment: 20 kW capacity for heating of premises with maximum area of 180 m², where a wall is 2.7 m high. Optimus series is to be extended by capacity in the nearest future.

The model is available in Light, Automatic, and Electro modifications. All the modifications of Optimus 20 boiler use the same fuel, are of the same design and specification. The boilers differ by the delivery package. 

Optimus 20 Light is a solid-fuel hot-water boiler, which is suitable for installation of the automated draught controller to control the temperature of heat-transfer agent and the heating coils that should be purchased separately. The Automatic and Electro modifications have the automated draught controller with temperature control for the heat-transfer agent included into the delivery package. Electro is the fullest modification of the boiler delivered with the automated draught controller to control the temperature of heat-transfer agent and the heating coils set of 6 kW capacity.

If you would like to install the heating coils by yourself, we recommend you to use certified TMF equipment. Installation of suitable heating coils manufactured by third-party is also technically possible to heat the heat-transfer agent in the heating systems. The total capacity of the heating coils should not exceed the values recommended by the manufacturer in order to maintain normal operation of the boiler.
